One of the treasures of this neighborhood is being able to walk down to the trendy area known as Marda Loop. Marda Loop is a Business Revitalization Zone (BRZ) in Calgary and is centered on 33rd and 34th Ave. SW it bisects the neighbourhoods of South Calgary and Altadore. They are named after Marc and Mada Jenkins, who were owners of the Marda Theatre (Odeon) the name being a combination of their two names. The theatre opened I 1953, closed in 1988 and was sadly demolished in 1990.
