In the southwest portion of the community is the Shouldice Arena and Athletic Park, complete with a hockey rink, four soccer fields, a baseball field, seven softball fields and three football fields, all available for bookings March through November.
To the West lies and to the north, in , is Market Mall, one of Calgary’s largest indoor shopping malls, with over 200 stores, including The Bay, Old Navy and Apple Store (the first one to open in Calgary). Built in a racetrack style layout, the mall is easy to navigate. Food is easy to find in the mall as well, with a standard food court, as well as a Moxie's Classic Grill and a Milestones.
Montgomery has an elementary school and a junior high school operated by the CBE.
